About

Erin is focussed on research-driven, collaborative and commissioned projects in the cultural, creative and research sectors. Her commissions and collaborations build on professional experience working across publishing, editorial, branding, environmental design and art direction. Erin’s independent work and experimental projects explore the spaces and ideas at the edges of visual communication design practice and research.

Erin has a PhD from the University of Technology Sydney. Her research explored Emigre magazine, graphic design archives and collections, data visualisation and designerly visualisation practices. Her thesis introduced the notion of an Expanded Visualisation Practice as a framework for visual communication design inquiry. Her thesis has been included in the 2021 Chancellor's List as a  doctoral thesis judged to be of the highest calibre among all University of Technology Sydney theses submitted in 2021.
